About this policy

Help My Brand (“we”, “us”) is a small business based in Mandurah, Western Australia, helping local small businesses get the things done they know they should be doing.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you contact us or fill in our form, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’ve written it in plain English so it’s easy to follow.

We handle your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. When we contact you by phone, SMS or email, we also follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), which means we only message you with your consent and we always give you a way to opt out.

What information we collect

When you fill in our form or get in touch, we may collect:

  • Your name
  • Your business name
  • Your suburb
  • Your mobile phone number
  • Your email address
  • The type of business you run (for example trades, health & fitness, beauty & salons, food & hospitality, or retail)
  • What you know you should be doing but never get to, what’s holding you back, roughly what a new customer is worth to you, and anything you’d like off your plate
  • Your consent to be contacted by phone, SMS and email

We only collect the details you choose to give us. You don’t have to fill in every field, but we need at least your name and a way to reach you so we can reply.

How we collect it

We collect your information directly from you when you fill in our form, send us a message, or speak with us by phone, email or social media. We don’t buy contact lists or scrape your details from anywhere.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Reply to your enquiry and share your quiz results with you
  • Understand what your business needs and whether we can help
  • Follow up with you about the help you asked about
  • Keep a record of our conversations so we can pick up where we left off
  • Send you helpful, occasional updates by phone, SMS or email, only if you’ve agreed to be contacted

We only use your information for the reason you gave it to us. We won’t use it for anything else without asking you first.

When we share it

We don’t sell or rent your information. We don’t share it with other businesses for their marketing.

We may share your information with trusted service providers who help us run our business, for example the tools we use to send emails and text messages, or to store your details safely. They only get what they need to do that job, and they’re required to keep your information secure.

We may also disclose your information where we’re required to by law, or to protect our rights or the rights of others.

How we store and protect it

We store your information using reputable, secure tools and take reasonable steps to protect it from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, but we do our best to keep yours safe.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to answer your enquiry and provide our services. After that, we keep it only as long as we’re required to by law or for legitimate record-keeping, and then we delete it or de-identify it.

Marketing and opting out

We only send you marketing messages if you’ve agreed to be contacted. You can opt out at any time. Just reply “stop” to a text, click the unsubscribe link in an email, or ask us directly and we’ll remove you straight away.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it’s wrong, and ask us to stop using it in certain situations.

If you’d like to see, update or delete your details, or if you have a question about how we handle your information, contact us using the details below.

Cookies

Our website may use basic cookies and similar tools to help it work properly and understand how people use the site. They don’t store your personal information in a way that identifies you. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page so you always know which version applies.
